Tauck River Cruising joins CLIA

CLIA North America reports that Tauck River Cruising has become the fourth river cruise company to join the global industry trade organization. In doing so, Tauck also becomes a member of the CLIA Specialty Cruise Collection, a group of 14 companies representing the rapidly growing river cruise, small ship, adventure and other niche cruising segment. “Tauck is one of the most revered names in travel and it’s a great start to 2013 to have them join the CLIA family,”said CLIA president Christine Duffy. “Tauck has been in business for 88 years and its cruise division has earned high accolades from the public and the travel industry. Their joining CLIA is a reflection of the growing importance of river cruising to the global cruise industry.”Tauck River Cruising offers river voyages throughout Europe. Four new ships – Swiss Emerald, Swiss Sapphire, Swiss Jewel, and the newest, Swiss Treasures – sail the Rhine, Danube, Main, Rhone, Saone and Moselle rivers, each carrying no more than 118 passengers. The company’s vessels feature 14 27-square-metre suites and seven junior suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows opening on to French balconies. Personalized service is enhanced by the presence of one Tauck Cruise Director and three Tauck Directors onboard each voyage. Dining is offered in two venues in addition to onshore culinary adventures. Tauck operates 14 different all-inclusive river cruise itineraries in Europe, ranging from eight to 24 days, with more than 100 departures annually.
