TIAO warns of unauthorized Ontario Tourism Summit emails

The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) is thanking its members and partners who have alerted it to the fact that “suspicious emails” regarding the upcoming Ontario Tourism Summit.

TIAO said that it has “received reports of unsolicited emails offering to sell or provide an Ontario Tourism Summit 2026 Registrants/Attendees List.”

And it states: “Please be advised that these messages are fraudulent and are not affiliated with the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario or the Ontario Tourism Summit.”

It continued: “TIAO does not sell, distribute or authorize third parties to sell Ontario Tourism Summit attendee or registrant information.”

And the association advised that “if  you receive one of these messages:

• Do not reply to the sender
• Do not click any links or open attachments
• Do not provide payment, personal or organizational information
• Mark the message as spam or phishing and delete it

And the association makes it clear that Official Ontario Tourism Summit communications will come directly from TIAO through our recognized communication channels and email addresses.

“We are actively monitoring the situation and appreciate everyone who has brought these messages to our attention. Please feel free to forward suspicious communications to [email protected] so our team can document them,” the association says in its advisory.

TIAO concludes: “Thank you for helping us protect the privacy and security of Ontario’s tourism community.”
