TICO Looking For CIAC Nominations

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) is looking for nominations – from consumers and from the travel industry – to form a new advisory committee reporting to TICO’s Board of Directors (Board).

The Consumer and Industry Advisory Committee (CIAC) will provide advice on proposed new initiatives, broad policy matters, innovation and/or other changes that impact the travel marketplace, whether leisure or business focused.

TICO’s board has recently approved a Terms of Reference for the CIAC and they are available at https://files.constantcontact.com/a2131814201/e85bda01-47e3-41bc-a839-e84e396545ee.pdf .

The criteria for applying to become a member on the CIAC includes the following:

  • Members cannot sit on TICO’s Board of Directors or management team
  • Members cannot be an employee of the Ontario government
  • French language proficiency would be considered an asset

Those interested can apply by submitting a letter of intent and their resume by May 5, 2021 to [email protected].

Richard Smart, president and CEO, TICO, said that: “TICO is excited over this opportunity to leverage the collective input from consumers and travel industry stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to provide valuable insights to strategic initiatives and other activities that will help shape the future consumer protection framework affecting the Ontario travel industry.”

All cover letters and resumes will be reviewed by the Nominations Committee of the CIAC, and candidates should be prepared to make themselves available for further discussion as required in May.

Only applicants selected for consideration will be contacted.
