Munich Airport’s Winter Market is back, offering travellers entertainment, family fun, gift ideas and seasonal food and drink.
The 17th edition of the popular event is open through Dec. 27, once again turning the covered open space of the Munich Airport Center between the airport’s two terminals into a winter wonderland with 450 live Christmas trees and centrepiece giant Christmas tree. Open from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. (closing at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve), the Winter Market offers visitors open-air Christmas shopping at more than 46 stands offering gift ideas and seasonal treats like mulled wine, sweet roasted almonds, sausages and gingerbread. At the middle is a large skating rink with an adjacent ice surface for Bavaria’s unique version of curling.
For aviation fans of all ages, this year’s Winter Market has a special daily treat – Munich Airport’s popular 50-minute twilight tours of the runways, fire stations, cargo terminal and maintenance hangars.
