Icelandair will take to the streets of Toronto between Sept. 7-11 to give Torontonians a taste of Europe and chances to win trips via Icelandair.

While most know Icelandair flies to Iceland, the airline wants travellers to know they can also fly via Icelandair to 28 destinations in Europe with gate-to-gate WiFi, personal inflight entertainment and some of the fastest travel times from Toronto-Pearson International.

Icelandair will sponsor an airplane-inspired food truck ready to serve up European classics representative of the delicacies one may find served in one of Icelandair’s top destinations. Choices will include Fish & Chips from the U.K (Birmingham, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Aberdeen), Swedish meatballs from Sweden (Stockholm, Gothenburg), French Macarons from France (Paris), and Swiss chocolates from Switzerland (Zurich).

The food truck, appropriately named Eyjafjallajökull, after one of Iceland’s most famous volcanoes, will visit three Toronto locations: Sept. 7, Adelaide Centre, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sept. 8, RBC Plaza, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sept. 9, Roy Thomson Hall, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Sept. 10, Roy Thomson Hall, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

A select group of lucky diners will not only receive a complimentary meal, but may also find a special winning ticket good for a trip for two to any Icelandair destination.

For those that are not so hungry, but can still picture themselves a winner, Icelandair will also be sponsoring a photo booth where hopeful travellers can snap their image into one of four scenic backgrounds. Sharing their photo online using #viaicelandair then provides another chance to win a trip for two to any of Icelandair’s European destinations.

Participants who do not win a trip will still have a chance to receive a $100 gift certificate, which can be applied to any future Icelandair booking.
