Hotwire.com has unveiled its 10 most popular domestic destinations for Canadian travellers over the Family Day Weekend for 2015.

Canadian mainstays, including Toronto and Montreal, remain the most sought-after to visit, but there are still deals to be found on Hotwire. All top 10 cities are experiencing hotel pricing averages around $100 a night, helping families enjoy the convenience of a quick, nearby vacation without breaking the bank.

“This Family Day weekend, instead of going far and wide for a great deal, skip the stress of a long drive or plane ride and plan on having a staycation near home with your family,” says Henrik Kjellberg, president of the Hotwire Group. “With comparatively low prices all over the country during the winter season, this three-day weekend is a great time to explore your surroundings and see what gems are hiding in your own neighbourhood, all for great prices for a family on any budget.”

Toronto comes in as the most popular destination for Family Day weekend, with a variety of family friendly activities. Meanwhile, Montreal places second this year with Ottawa a close third. Rounding out the top five are Niagara Falls and Halifax, both of which are frequently visited destinations during Canadian holidays.

Capping off the top 10 are Quebec City, Edmonton, Banff, Calgary and Winnipeg.
