Tour company keeps an eye on the Middle East

Intrepid Travel says it’s monitoring the situation in the Middle East and North Africa as demonstrations sparked by a unflattering video of Islamic prophet Mohammed take place in a number of cities. Steven Larkin, who oversees Intrepid’s Canadian operation, says its destination management company in the regions is providing it with “up to date and on the ground status reports so that the safety and security of our passengers are the top priority. We continuously monitor volatile situations and take necessary action to ensure the safety of not only our passengers but also our staff and leaders on the ground.”Demonstrations outside US diplomatic missions have been taking place for much of the week and violence flared in Benghazi, Libya, leaving four Americans dead.
