Although the global meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions market is showing steady signs of recovery, Accor’s Mansi Vagt reveals that business travellers are emerging from the pandemic with renewed priorities and aren’t eager to get back to the way things were before.
“People have taken a step back to really evaluate what they value in life and not getting back to that point of being over scheduled again,” said Vagt, global brand leader & vice president at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, during the recent Accor Global Meeting Exchange at the Fairmont San Francisco. “If it takes me away from my kids, my family, my passions, whatever it is, they’re consciously making those decisions that it has to be something that’s going to be meaningful and add value to their life, both for business and for pleasure. They’re not willing to get back to that over scheduled [lifestyle] again — people are absolutely cognizant of that and they’re not going to go back.”
