Trafalgar sets sail in search of The Great Godmother

Ahead of the 2027 debut of the Trafalgar Dreamer on the Seine in April 2027, Trafalgar is launching a search for the Godmother of its newest river ship.

The Great Godmother Search sees the brand inviting past guests to submit a meaningful story or memory from their travels with Trafalgar for the chance to become part of Trafalgar history and inviting their travel advisor to share in the moment.

The selected Godmother will christen Trafalgar Dreamer and sail on the ship’s inaugural voyage along with their travel advisor. If the winner names a travel advisor in their application, that advisor will also receive a complimentary place on the inaugural sailing.

Trafalgar is also encouraging travel advisors to support the search for its Godmother by sharing the opportunity with their clients. Advisors are asked not to submit entries on behalf of their guests. The search builds on a tradition Trafalgar began with Trafalgar Verity and Trafalgar Reverie, when past guests Cassie Estrella-Roca and Kate McIntosh were selected as the ships’ respective Godmothers.

Melissa DaSilva, Deputy CEO and Chief Sales Officer, TTC Tour Brands, explained that: “Travel has a way of creating memories that stay with us long after a trip comes to an end, and those stories are at the heart of what makes the Trafalgar experience so special.”

DaSilva continued: “The Great Godmother Search allows us an opportunity to celebrate the meaningful connections our guests have made through travel and invite one of those travelers to play a special role in welcoming Trafalgar Dreamer to the Seine. Our travel advisors are an important part of those journeys, and we wanted to recognize their role in orchestrating these memorable experiences.”

And she added: “As we look ahead to her debut, we’re excited to celebrate the stories, experiences and relationships that have shaped Trafalgar for nearly 80 years.”

Eligible past Trafalgar guests can submit their stories through Oct. 29, 2026. Advisors are encouraged to share the opportunity with their past guests and remind them to include their name when completing the entry.

Trafalgar Dreamer will begin sailing on the Seine in April 2027 with the new Best of the Seine with Paris & Normandy itinerary, bringing Trafalgar’s signature approach to guided travel to the river and offering guests a new way to experience Europe through expert guidance, authentic local experiences and meaningful connections with the destinations along the way.
