Transat, Agents Give Back
Transat is extending a warm thanks to all the travel agents who participated in its recent familiarization trip to Cayo Santa Maria – thanks to their donations of school supplies for young children, they have contributed to helping two schools in this region.
Indeed, as is customary at major familiarization trips, Transat – along with its destination partners, MINTUR and Gaviota – asked participating agents to lend the Cuban community a helping hand. The collected supplies were distributed to the following two schools in Remedios, a small city that is home to many Cubans working at Cayo Santa Maria hotels: Circulo Infantil Luca del Valle (daycare); Escuela Primera Mártires de Barbados (primary school).
“Transat would like to thank the travel agents, who, as always, showed tremendous generosity,” says Annick Guérard, president and general manager of Transat Tours Canada. “With their enthusiasm and commitment to such initiatives, they help contribute to our efforts in responsible tourism.”
From Dec. 5-8, Transat hosted more than 150 travel agents from Quebec and Ontario to Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba, to show them an idyllic Sun destination and visit several of the must-see resorts in the region.
