‘Routes Africa Marketing Awards’
recognizes Kenyan Airports

Jomo
Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi was named as one of
the top winners in the ‘African heat’ category by the ‘World Routes
Airport Marketing Awards 2013’, while the Moi International Airport in
Mombasa was ranked as the most improved airport on the continent winning
the ‘Airport Service Quality Award’.

(JKIA) International Airport won this year’s award in the ‘Over 4
Million Passengers’ category. Ongoing work at (JKIA) International
Airport include the construction of a new unit – Terminal 4; renovation
of the existing units (Terminal 1, 2 and 3); and construction of remote
stands for parking aircrafts, as well as a second runway.

The recognition of Moi International Airport is the first time that a
Kenyan airport received an award by the Airports Council International,
which recognizes airports that achieve the highest passenger
satisfaction ratings in quality survey – the world’s benchmark of
airport excellence.
‘Routes Africa Marketing Awards’ are regarded as one of the most
prestigious awards by the airline industry, voted and judged by the
airline network planning community. The annual award brings together
more than 250 key players in the airline and airport industry from
across the African region and beyond for strategic networking on air
service development. Routes Africa is the key event for Airports,
Airlines, Tourism Authorities, Policy Leaders, Keynote speakers and
exhibitors to meet, do business and plan for the future.
