TravelBrands: It’s all about helping agents close the sale

Ask Nathalie Tanious, president and CEO of TravelBrands, the simple question: “How’s business?’ And her immediate response will be: ‘Exceptional.’

For TravelBrands, 2023 was ‘another good year,’ with Canadians continuing their love affair with both the Caribbean and Mexico. The cruise market – where there is so much capacity and so much choice — was strong and, of particular note, long-stay holidays in Europe did extremely well, led by Portugal and Spain programs offered through Exotik Journeys.

When asked if there were any disappointments, Tanious told Travel Press Today, there were none, pointing out that “everything was selling” and making it clear that she was “happy with the way business took off” for TravelBrands.

Agent appreciation events this week

Along with that good news, TravelBrands is gearing up for its annual Agent Appreciation events this week in Toronto (April 9) and Montreal (April 10), where it will be showcasing a range of new technology initiatives (including a new Fly-Drive tool) and product, like Vacation Rentals, a new cruise line, Aurora Expeditions; plus, its Air Seat Protection program; the return of the company’s 24/7 program; and a whole lot more.

All in all, Tanious observed: “I think we have a lot to say.”

Looking ahead to the summer of 2024, TravelBrands’ boss said that it’s all about Europe … “lots and lots and lots of Europe. Air tickets, Fly-Drives, Long-Stays, multi-itineraries, cruises are all on the itinerary for Canadians headed to Europe this summer.”

“Europe as a whole we know that it is going to be extremely strong this coming summer and into the fall,” she added. “Definitely into the fall because people are not just going to Europe in the months of June, July and August now, it’s gone into September and way into October.”

As for the message that TravelBrands will bring with it to its Agent Appreciation events, Tanious offered the following:

“My message to them is first, thank you, for everything you’ve done for us. We’re committed to giving you the best customer service in the industry.”

Along with the technology that TravelBrands provides travel advisors, Tanious made it clear that that technology offering operates in tandem with the company’s customer service. “It’s so important that we offer the right service to the travel advisors to provide them with anything they need to be able to close that sale,” Tanious said.
