ULTRA LOW COST CARRIER SLATED FOR YVR

Vancouver Airport (YVR) may be hosting a new low cost carrier, with services in western Canada, if plans by an investment group are realized. The airline, to be called Jetlines, has been slated for launch next fall. It will use an “ultra” low cost business model, whereby fees are charged for almost all services above the cost of the airfare, which will aim to undercut established airlines WestJet and Air Canada. The business model has been a success for airlines like Ryanair in Europe and Allegiant in the US. Canada Jetlines Ltd. is now in hunt for funding.
