V2V Sets Sail For Fall 2018

V2V Vacations – which offers a cruise service that connects downtown Vancouver to downtown Victoria – has announced its fall season schedule.

From Sept. 20 to Oct. 15, 2018, passengers can enjoy a full-day of discovery — from coastal British Columbia’s dramatic natural beauty to Victoria’s quaint cultural charms — aboard the V2V Empress.

The V2V Empress will depart daily from Vancouver at 8 a.m. and arrive in Victoria at 11:30 a.m. The voyage on the 242-passenger high-speed catamaran takes travellers from Vancouver’s Coal Harbour, around Stanley Park, under the historic Lion’s Gate Bridge and beyond, past forested islands that dot Active Pass and across the Salish Sea to the Steamship Terminal in Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

From Victoria, the V2V Empress will depart at 4 p.m. to arrive back in Vancouver at 7:30 p.m.

Julian Wright, general manager of V2V Vacations, noted that: “Victoria’s backdrop of old-world character blends with eclectic shops, restaurants and attractions to create the most memorable visitor experience. The improved schedule allows our guests to enjoy the same-day convenience of downtown-to-downtown service.”

V2V also announced its daily cruise service will transition to a seasonal operation starting Oct. 16, 2018. The service adjustment comes as part of an effort to elevate V2V’s already high standard of safety, reliability and comfort as the British Columbia coast can present challenging and inconsistent weather conditions during the winter months. The service will resume on March 15 until Oct. 31, 2019 with daily departures.
These new service hours will continue in 2019. During the 2019 high-season, between April and September, the vessel will depart Vancouver at 8 a.m. and leave Victoria at 4:30 p.m.
