VIDEO: Google offers unique view of NASA

With 2012 marking the 50th anniversary of the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Google has released over 6,000 panoramic views from the space centre. That’s Google’s single largest Street View collection to date. Among the images that users can now explore online are the Space Shuttle Launch Pad, the Vehicle Assembly Building where you can see the shuttles in their hangars up close, and the Launch Firing Room from which the shuttles are controlled. Google says that the goal of the new collection is to give space enthusiasts and every kid who’s ever wanted to be an astronaut the opportunity to ‘walk’ in the footsteps of famous astronauts and learn more about one of mankind’s greatest technological accomplishments–the exploration of space. Plus, there’s a nifty video, so check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BnUoTyATLo
