Virgin Atlantic hosts a party to remember in YYZ

Sir Richard Branson and his team welcomed senior Toronto and area travel executives for a celebration of Virgin Atlantic’s new Toronto-London Heathrow flights, telling the crowd that gathered at the Globe & Mail Centre on King St. E. in the city’s downtown that not only is Virgin Atlantic back in Canada, “we’re back for good.”

Ahead of those comments by Virgin Atlantic’s founder, the carrier’s Chief Commercial Officer, Juha Jarvinen told the glitzy and glamorous crowd that the airline’s return to Canada with its new daily, Boeing 787-9 flights both support the company’s growing transatlantic presence and build on its expansion in India – with seamless one-stop connections via London Heathrown available to Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru.

Plus, Virgin Atlantic passengers will also be able to connect to Johannesburg, Lagos, Tel Aviv, and Beirut via codeshare and interline partnerships.

Jarvinen also pointed to Virgin Atlantic’s partnerships and how the Toronto-London Heathrow service strengthens its Joint Venture with Delta Air Lines and Air France-KLM, who together operate over 100 flights per week between Europe and seven Canadian gateways, reinforcing transatlantic choice and flexibility for customers.

Even better, Jarvinen pointed out that the new service will offer greater connections within Canada as part of an expanded codeshare partnership with WestJet.

Virgin Atlantic and WestJet will be conveniently co-located at Toronto Pearson International Airport’s Terminal 3, allowing customers to connect through Toronto to 13 destinations across Canada, including Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Ottawa with loyalty program benefits across Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and WestJet Rewards expected to launch later this year.
