Cruise News: Silversea, Riviera River, Windstar And More

Silversea is rolling out Virtual Visits, a new weekly video series designed to engage and inform travel partners. Nurturing the cruise line’s strong relationships with the travel agent community, representatives from Silversea’s global sales and marketing teams are hosting short video presentations of 15 minutes or less that travel advisors can view at their convenience to keep up to date with the company’s latest news.

Delivered through a dedicated new platform, sales team members address key areas of interest, from product developments and destination insights to new offers and initiatives, including the recently launched Cruise with Confidence program and the Double Bonus promotion, which enabled guests to book a cruise with Silversea from just USD $1,000 per suite, which will be converted into a $1,000 Onboard Spending Credit.

Barbara Muckermann, Silversea’s chief marketing officer, explained: “We have launched this Virtual Visits program to support our valued travel partners throughout this challenging period. We understand how difficult it can be for travel advisors to keep up with scheduled webinars, so we have created these convenient online videos, hosted by a familiar Silversea face, as a way to stay connected and to update our partners at their leisure. Silversea is offering guests unprecedented flexibility to book their voyages when they feel ready and these Virtual Visits ensure that travel advisors are there to support their guests every step of the way.”

Silversea’s Virtual Visits are delivered by email, via the popular Explore newsletter, to the cruise line’s established travel partners.

Travel advisors requiring additional information may contact the Silversea sales support team by calling 1-800-722-9955.

New Promotion From Riviera Cruises

This month (June), Riviera River Cruises is offering travel advisors’ clients a “Half Back” promotion with a reduced deposit that is returned as a shipboard credit.

Clients pay a deposit of only $400 per cabin – half of the regular $400 per person deposit for a double-occupancy cabin – for any Riviera cruise in Europe from September 2020 through 2021 and receive $400 back as a shipboard credit upon departure.

Marilyn Conroy, Riviera River Cruises’ executive vice president sales and marketing North America, said that: ““As we see renewed interest in cruising the rivers and waterways of Europe, we’re offering travel advisors’ clients an extra incentive to book with us later this year or in 2021.”

Conroy continued: “Riviera is the only cruise line that accepts bookings exclusively from advisors, and we hope this reduced deposit and shipboard credit help ease your clients’ decision to return to travel – it can even be combined with other current offers. Join us when we sail again.”

Save Now, Sail Later With Windstar

Windstar Cruises has released its new schedule for its fleet of six yachts in 2021, as well as launching its “Save Now & Sail Later” offer. With three Star Class yachts emerging in 2020 and 2021 from a major transformation and “stretch” in Italy, new schedules affect the three yachts.

Andrew Todd, CEO of Xanterra and Windstar Cruises, said: “We’ve made changes to our 2021 cruise schedule to accommodate new launch dates of the Star Class yachts and a desire for more sailings from U.S. and Caribbean ports. And though bookings are ahead of where they were at this time last year, we want to offer the best deal we can to travelers ready to cruise in 2021.”

Its “Save Now & Sail Later” One Week Sale is now open and continues to June 4, featuring a variety of cruises in 2021 with rates starting at $1,299 per guest based on double occupancy.

As well as reduced prices on select itineraries (as well as cruise tours with overland components) in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Tahiti, Caribbean, Alaska, U.S. Coastals, Canada, Asia, Mexico and Panama/Costa Rica, guests can receive up to $1,000 in shipboard credit per stateroom.
