WestJet and WestJet Vacations wrapped up their six-city, cross-Canada series of travel trade expos in Toronto last night (May 19) and to say the least, it was quite a party.

The festive event welcomed in the neighbourhood of 700 travel agents who had a chance to explore a trade show featuring 66 sponsor companies, attend five different breakout sessions, network with old and new friends and learn lots more about both WestJet and WestJet Vacations.

Oh, and there were also lots and lots of prizes as officials from both the airline and the tour company were in high spirits as the celebrated WestJet’s 20th anniversary and WestJet Vacations 10th anniversary.

WestJet’s Travel Trade Expos took place in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Mississauga and Toronto during the early part of May and in wandering the trade show floor, supplier companies exhibiting at the event were well pleased by the response they’d received from agents attending the events.

Breakout sessions at the Toronto event featured presentations by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., Palace Resorts, Bahia Resorts, AMResorts and Melia Resorts.

In her presentation to agents, WestJet’s director of agency sales, Jane Clementino told retailers that 2015 was the “best ever” for the company and she made it clear that agents had a key role in that success.

Clementino made it clear that agents were important to WestJet and told them that both the airline and the tour company were working to make sure that they gave agents the right tools to help them do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.
