WestJet is adding new non-stop service between Edmonton and Nanaimo, British Columbia, as well as more flights between Edmonton and Grande Prairie, Kelowna, Regina and Saskatoon.

Chris Avery, vice-president, network planning, alliances and corporate development for WestJet said: “Edmonton is one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada and these important schedule improvements will support that growth.”

Avery also noted that: “These increases cover a broad range of areas including key business and leisure routes, offering greater flexibility for business travellers who want same-day return trips, and more choices for people looking for vacation opportunities.”

Edmonton’s mayor, Don Iveson observed: “WestJet’s significant investment and commitment is a vote of confidence in the Edmonton Metro region. Increasing our connectivity and frequency means more options for residents and visitors alike.”

This winter, WestJet will fly non-stop from Edmonton to 26 destinations in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean including Orlando, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Phoenix, Maui, Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

The carrier’s non-stop seasonal service between Edmonton and Maui begins December 11, 2015, on board the airline’s Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
