WestJet introduces new credit card enhancements

WestJet has announced details of a new WestJet RBC World Elite MasterCard. The improved credit card, issued by Royal Bank of Canada, offers additional benefits. New WestJet RBC World Elite MasterCard cardholders will receive a welcome bonus of $250 WestJet dollars and a $99 round-trip companion flight (exclusive of taxes, fees and surcharges), just for getting the card. In addition, all WestJet RBC World Elite MasterCard cardholders will now receive a $99 round-trip companion flight upon card renewal, each year. Companion flights can be used for any WestJet flight in Canada and the continental US (excluding Hawaii and Puerto Rico). Cardholders are also automatically enrolled in WestJet Rewards, where they earn WestJet dollars for every WestJet flight flown or vacation package taken. WestJet dollars can be used towards the purchase of a WestJet flight or vacation package, on any date, to any of WestJet’s 81 destinations, with no blackout periods. They can even be used during seat sales. Members can redeem their WestJet dollars just like cash, using them as they earn them or saving them up towards their dream vacation. Cardholders will continue to enjoy special features and benefits with the World Elite card, including earning 1.5% back in WestJet dollars on everyday purchases and 2% back on the purchase of WestJet flights and vacations packages. Cardholders that reach $1,500 in annual qualifying spend will earn a combined total of 4.5% back in WestJet dollars when purchasing WestJet flights. WestJet continues to offer a second credit card option, the WestJet RBC MasterCard, with a welcome bonus of $50 WestJet dollars. (http://www.westjet.com/creditcard)
