WestJet Set For A Busy Summer

WestJet will release its 2018 summer schedule during the last week of January, a schedule that will include a significant number of changes.

In a travel agency update, officials noted that over the next few years, WestJet will become a global airline with an expanded network serviced by new aircraft. To achieve this goal, it is making changes to its schedule that are vital to growth and filling its wide-body aircraft.

The 2018 summer schedule will include: Improved connectivity and growth in WestJet’s three hubs, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary; Schedule improvements with increased frequency, more convenient departure times and more efficient connections throughout the network; Schedule consistency, frequency increases with optimized connectivity and growth of business routes designed to attract the premium traveller.

A number of GDS, WestJet Vacations and TA Web bookings will be affected by the launch of the 2018 summer schedule. To support agents with GDS bookings affected by these changes, WestJet has issued the following generic waiver code: *2018SUMSKED*. This can be used in the endorsement field to process any exchanges or refunds.
