When in Rome: Iberostar Expands Its City Portfolio

Situated in a historic building between architectural treasures like the Pantheon and its namesake, arguably Rome’s most well-known fountain, the Iberostar Fontana di Trevi is set to open in 2019.

The five-star boutique hotel, which marks Iberostar Hotels & Resorts’ first hotel in the Italian capital, is housed in a six-storey 19th-century building that combines elements of Renaissance and Neo-Renaissance style. In addition to the 67 rooms and a wide range of exclusive services, the hotel features a rooftop terrace that serves as an ideal spot to take in the skyline.

The Iberostar Fontana di Trevi will showcase a large mural by Daniel Buren, a leading artist and major figure on the contemporary art scene for over fifty years. The new hotel is situated on one of the main streets in Rome’s historic centre, offering easy access to the city’s major tourist attractions.

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is actively expanding its city hotels in leading tourist capitals, focusing on prime central locations that reflect the authenticity and charm of the cities they are located in. This property brings the number of city hotels in the company’s portfolio to 10, joining those located in New York, Miami, Lisbon, Havana, Madrid, Barcelona and Budapest.

“We are really excited about this new project,” said Aurelio Vázquez, the Iberostar Group’s chief operations officer. “Rome is one of the top international destinations attracting both business and leisure travellers, and Iberostar Fontana di Trevi is designed as a boutique hotel tailored to cater for both types of guest. The building is truly unique and boasts a matchless location, and we are working hard to offer first class services and facilities that will guarantee guests a memorable stay with us in Rome.”
