Zoom In On Israel

Israel, the land of inspiration, is hosting its first-ever Zoom in on Israel virtual roundtable for Canadian travel industry professionals.

Set for Tues., Sept. 22 from 1 pm to 3 pm, travel advisors will have a chance to join some of Israel’s top travel industry professionals, who will share with advisors what’s new in Israel tourism and the diverse journeys that they can arrange for their clients – no matter what their tastes or budgets are.

Israel’s tourism commissioner for North America, Eyal Carlin and its director and consul for Canada, Gal Hana will deliver opening remarks to kick the Zoom in on Israel session off.

Following Carlin’s and Hana’s opening remarks, advisors will be offered insights from suppliers from Israel, including representatives of:

  • Diesenhaus
  • Nazarene tours
  • Amiel
  • Kenes
  • Eshet
  • Vered Hasharon

And Canadian participants in the event include:

  • Dan tours
  • Travel Brands
  • Air Canada
  • Canadian Gateway/Aufgang
  • IBMT tours

Explaining the reason for the virtual events, Israel’s director and consul for Canada, Gal Hana told Press Today: “Israel is one of the most interesting destinations there is – from the most-holiest sites, Culture and history landmarks and great culinary and magnificent beaches. The last years were of rising interest and demand and we are looking forward for that to renew and recover.”

Hana pointed out that: “Canada is a main market for Israel and in recent months, despite the pandemic we increased our investments in Canada because of that.  The goals are to raise the awareness of the industry to Israel for more marketshare and diverse audiences and to promote some of the industry stakeholders who are familiar with Israel.”

And the trade here can expect more of these events, with Israel’s director and consul for Canada, explaining that: “We get many requests for information and news about Israel and the Holy Land and we decided to have this round-table session as a kickoff before launching more with themes such as the different regions of Israel, culinary, Hotels and more Industry members, etc.”

As for whether future events might include a trade show element, Hana told PT that: “As of now we are doing the event in a concept of round tables to gain both the knowledge and information layer but also to have a more ‘’call for action’’ approach so agents who will participate in the event will be able to sell Israel once the borders will re-open whether via an Israeli DMC or one of the great Canadians tour operators.”
