U.S. Virgin Islands report strong 2025 results

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism closed out 2025 with strong tourism performance across the Territory. Throughout 2025, travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands remained resilient, supported by consistent air access, active cruise operations, and sustained interest from key U.S. markets.

The U.S. Virgin Islands welcomed almost 1 million airline passengers through Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas and Henry E. Rohlsen Airport in St. Croix, reflecting consistent demand from core U.S. markets.

Cruise travel also played an important role in overall visitation, with nearly 1.83 million cruise passengers arriving in St. Thomas and St. Croix.

Looking ahead, scheduled air service enhancements and forward cruise schedules support continued growth in 2026, with airline arrivals projected to reach 927,000 and cruise passenger volume expected to total 1,960,000.

Jennifer Matarangas-King, Commissioner for the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, said of the results: “The close of 2025 reflects the strength and discipline of the U.S. Virgin Islands tourism product. Our focus was on maintaining access, strengthening partnerships, and guiding growth in a way that aligns with our communities as we move into 2026.”
