G Adventures returns to Jordan after travel advisories eased

G Adventures is resuming operations in Jordan after the relaxation of Canadian travel advisories to the region.

The community tourism pioneer had paused its operations due to the conflict in the Middle East, but will now recommence departures from August 1, 2026, allowing travellers to once again explore iconic destinations including Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and the ancient city of Jerash.

Michelle Hudema, Chief Operating Officer for G Adventures, said: “We’ve always been quick to return to destinations as soon as it is safe to do so, because we’ve seen time and again the vital role tourism plays in supporting local communities and livelihoods.”

Hudema continued: “Jordan holds a special place for us. Following our GX Summit in September 2025, we welcomed new communities and local partners into our tours and supply chain, and we’re eager to resume operations and continue creating opportunities through the power of sustainable travel.”

And she noted that: “For travellers, there’s never been a better time to experience this extraordinary destination. Late summer and autumn are fantastic seasons to visit, whether you’re looking to hike sections of the ancient Jordan Trail or join one of our adventures designed exclusively for solo travellers.”

Hudema added: “By choosing to travel to Jordan, our travellers can enjoy an unforgettable experience while helping ensure tourism continues to deliver meaningful benefits to the people and communities who depend on it.”
