Amadeus and American Airlines have announced a new, long-term global distribution agreement that will enable Amadeus subscribers to continue to access and book the full range of American-marketed flights and lays the groundwork for Amadeus to offer American’s full suite of additional products and services. Under the new deal, an end-to-end XML connectivity will be developed between Amadeus technology and American’s interface. Once complete, this enhanced XML connectivity will facilitate expanded ancillary product distribution, real-time personalized offers, and improved merchandising, including the ability to book American’s Main Cabin Extra premium seating product — which provides four to six inches of additional legroom and Group 1 boarding. Scott Alvis, chief marketing officer, Amadeus North America, commented: “We’re pleased to renew and expand our long term partnership with American Airlines. American and Amadeus share a culture of innovation and our teams work well together. We are committed to partnering with our airline customers to bring outstanding technology and expertise to help them achieve their plans.” Derek DeCross, vice-president of global sales for American Airlines, said: “Amadeus has shown an ability to adapt its technology to our business needs and we appreciate this spirit of partnership. Amadeus agents worldwide will benefit from an advanced solution that transparently displays the full range of American’s products and instantly delivers highly relevant, tailored offers to customers.” Go to http://www.aa.com or http://www.amadeus.com for more.
