Air Canada launches new direct flights from Toronto to Guadeloupe

Air Canada recently launched new direct service from Toronto to the Guadeloupe Islands.

From December 20 to April, the Guadeloupe Islands will be accessible every Saturday from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Flights are already available for sale and will be operated by a Boeing 737-800 MAX, configured with 16 seats in business class and 153 in economy class.

“We are thrilled about the opening, this winter, of the new route to Toronto, which perfectly aligns with our regional network development strategy. North America is our primary growth driver, having experienced an increase of 66% in the past three years,” said Alain Bievre, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Guadeloupe Maryse Condé International Airport. “With the addition of this new route to Toronto, operated from December to April on Saturdays, Air Canada now increases its seat offer by 15 % and is now operating a daily flight to Canada from Pointe-à-Pitre. This expansion reflects the longstanding bond between Air Canada and the beautiful archipelago of the Guadeloupe Islands for nearly 50 years.”

After having successfully promoted the French-speaking Canadian market in recent years, the Guadeloupe Islands are now expanding their tourism development prospects with this new service, targeting a high-potential English-speaking Canadian public in search of authentic cultural and seaside experiences.

“Air Canada is very pleased to be the leading carrier between Canada and the French Caribbean, and we are delighted to add new flights from Toronto to Guadeloupe this winter,” said Alexandre Lefevre, VP Network Planning North America and Scheduling. “We’re excited to be opening new links between Ontario and the French Antilles. This new service complements our year-round flights from Montreal. We have optimized connections to and from our Toronto hub to give more Canadians additional convenient travel options to visit beautiful Guadeloupe.”

“In mid-2024, we decided to step up our promotional activities in the Canadian market. The opening of this new route marks the culmination of this work carried out in collaboration with Guadeloupe Maryse Condé airport. In line with our strategic orientations, Canada has become one of the priority markets for the promotion of the Guadeloupe archipelago. This new service marks the strengthening of commercial ties between Air Canada and the Guadeloupe Islands, especially as at the end of this year we will be celebrating our golden jubilee – 50 years of Air Canada service to the Guadeloupe Islands. It’s a true love story that
links our two destinations, and we wish them a long and prosperous one,” said Valérie Samuel-Cesarus, president of the Guadeloupe Islands Tourism Board.
