Air Canada Adds Montreal-Sydney, N.S. Service
Air Canada has launched new, non-stop service between Montreal and Sydney, Nova Scotia. The carrier will be offering daily service between the two cities until Oct. 26 using a 78-seat Q400 turboprop aircraft. This connection will allow for travel between the two cities, or travellers can connect onward to other destinations from across Air Canada's network through the hub in Montreal. Passenger Demand Solid, But Trend Has Slowed: IATA
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reports global passenger traffic results for May shows that demand (measured in revenue passenger kilometres) rose 4.5% compared to the same month in 2018. This was in line with the revised April traffic growth of 4.4% and above the recent trough of 3.1% year-on-year growth recorded in March. However, it remains below the 20-year average growth rate of around 5.5%. Air Transat has unveiled with its winter 2019-2020 program for Sun destinations in South and Central America, Mexico, Florida, the Caribbean and Europe.
