Singapore Airlines, Alaska Airlines terminating their codeshare
In a message to its travel partners, Singapore Airlines (SQ) is advising that its codeshare with Alaska Airlines (AS) is being terminated. The termination of the codeshare between the two carriers is effective as of Oct. 1, 2025 and all SQ*AS codeshare sales for departures beyond Sept. 30, 2025 have been closed. AS will perform a schedule change on Sept. 6, 2025 for all bookings with SQ*AS sectors with departure dates from Oct. 1, 2025 onwards. WestJet has unveiled details of a new deal with Boeing for the purchase of 60 737-10 MAX narrowbody aircraft, with options for an additional 25. IATA has released global passenger demand data for July 2025, with the highlights including: Total demand, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), was up 4.0% compared to July 2024. Total capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), was up 4.4% year-on-year. The July load factor was 85.5% (-0.4 ppt compared to July 2024).
