CALGARY TOPS AGAIN
During the tabling of its 2012 annual report recently, Tourism Calgary reported that, for the second straight year, Calgary led the nation's major cities for visitor spending growth (6.4%) and shared the lead in visitor growth (3.9%). Weekend occupancy gained 3.7% and weekday occupancy was up by 4.2%. In a year that celebrated the Calgary Stampede Centennial and Calgary's designation as Cultural Capital of Canada, Calgary welcomed 5.2 million visitors, spending about $1.4 billion dollars at Calgary attractions, restaurants, hotels, shops and festivals/events....

New York State's largest tourism campaign in decades has been launched, with government officials committing nearly US$60 million to grow the industry, create jobs and attract even more visitors to the Empire State. PRINCEVILLE GETS NEW PAR-3 MINI-PRINCE
The acclaimed Prince Course at Princeville Golf Club, on Kauai's north shore, has introduced a new six-hole Par 3 course dubbed the "Mini Prince,"which opened on April 1. The Mini Prince is carved out of the Prince Clubhouse's practice facility, which has always included practice greens and bunkers. The existing practice greens have been enhanced and expanded into six complete par 3 holes, serving double duty as part of the driving range earlier in the day, then morphing into a six-hole course in late afternoon.
