DAYS INN MAKES A DIFFERENCE

During the month of July, Days Inn locations across Canada will take part in the brand’s seventh annual fundraiser in support of its partnership with Childhood Cancer Canada (CCC). During the week of July 8 to July 14, 2013, Days Inn hotel owners from across Canada will be donating $1 from every room sold to help fund the Survivor Scholarship Program. For the same week, Days Inns – Canada will be donating $1 for every direct booking made through http://www.daysinn.ca or 1-800-DAYS-INN. And to further strengthen fundraising support, guests will be able to make a donation at the front desk all month long. All proceeds will go towards Childhood Cancer Canadaãs Survivor Scholarship Program. Irwin Prince, president & COO, Realstar Hospitality, said: “Our goal is to raise $45,000 throughout the month of July to fund 30 scholarships for childhood cancer survivors in Canada. Since 2006, together with our hotel owners, staff and guests, we have donated over $340,000 to Childhood Cancer Canada.” The Survivor Scholarship Program is a one-time award of $1,500 for a childhood cancer survivor in any year of post-secondary education. The Program supports academic endeavours and recognizes the personal accomplishments of students who have survived childhood cancer. Founded in 1987, CCC is dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer through cancer research as well as improving the lives of children with cancer and their families by providing support and education.
