The Japan National Tourist Organization has announced December saw a record number of Canadian visitors to Japan for that month, with the figure reaching 22,000.

The figure marked a 24.3% increase over December 2014 and 51.1% over December 2013. In all, there were 231,423 Canadians last year, the first time the figure topped 200,000 in a year.
