Transat is back with the second edition of “Expat Experts,” an initiative that explores Costa Rica, Mexico and Honduras hideaways through the eyes of Canadian travel experts living abroad.

“We’re working with relatable Canadian expats who are trusted sources of travel inspiration, to give travellers insider tips on new places to explore. Their tips and tricks on how to travel off the beaten path are leading travellers beyond the hotel beach and restaurant,” said Genevieve LeBrun, vice-president of marketing at Transat. “We’re using their first-hand accounts to help Canadians get the most out of their dream vacation.”

With topics ranging from hidden beaches and local restaurants to the best spots for watching the sunset and discovering the local customs and history, Transat’s Canadian expats share experiences that will make Canadian travellers feel at home. Expatriate experts include Ottawa native Liisa Vexler living in Costa Rica, Torontonian Kelly McLaughlin in Mexico and Erika Macauley from Saskatchewan, now based in Honduras. Their expat experiences are shared on the Experience Transat blog, which features a wealth of editorial, photographic and video content.

Transat flies direct to 34 Sun destinations. With its range of vacation options for all types of travellers (packages, tours, cruises and à la carte accommodation), the tour operator is making it easier than ever for Canadians to explore the South.
