Home Digital Extra post San Diego Restaurant Week set to be served

The 13th annual San Diego Restaurant Week returns Sept. 24, running through Oct. 1 and featuring more than 180 participants.

Unlike most “Restaurant Weeks” that are organized by for-profit companies, San Diego Restaurant Week is run as a non-profit organization; generating funds which go back into the community to support a variety of culinary arts and garden programs throughout San Diego’s inner-city schools.

Support and involvement in programs such as the Food 4 Kids Backpack Program, which provides backpacks of food for chronically hungry elementary school students to take home over the weekend, have shown the true reach of SDRW’s ability to utilize one week of dining to transform the lives of those in our community.

More than 180 restaurants will offer three-course prix-fixe dinner menus for $20, $30, $40 or $50 per person and/or two-course prix-fixe lunch menus for $10, $15 or $20 per person. The participating restaurants span across the county from the South Bay to East County and to the North borders of Oceanside and Fallbrook.
