Quebec tourism authorities are reminding people planning to visit Quebec that they won’t get hit by a hefty currency exchange as soon as they cross the Quebec border.

“With the current state of the Canadian dollar and companies putting greater financial accountability on their meetings departments, what better time than any to promote travel to Quebec?” Deborah Edwards of Destination Quebec, Toronto, told a Toronto gathering last week of those in the meetings and incentive trade.

Edwards noted that those visiting Quebec at this time of year can go on the likes of culinary tours or opt for such pursuits as dog-sledding.

“Quebecers are known for their festive spirit,” Edwards continued. “Major sporting and cultural events, lively urban festivals and quaint village fairs – simply put, anything is an excuse for a celebration. Quebec has everything your client can imagine for incentive programs, corporate meeting groups, teambuilding – the list is endless.”
Edwards praised “excellent and ample meeting space” found in Quebec, along with its “five-star hotels in urban settings and chic boutiques in the most rural of settings.”

She added that Via Rail has routes linking Ontario and Quebec and “all of the major airlines have regularly scheduled flights to the major business destinations within Quebec.” Flight options will increase for the summer, Edwards continued.
