Travel Agent Appreciation

TICO conviction

Marek Paszyn and Aquarius Scuba Diving Centre Inc. plead guilty and were each convicted of one count of operating as a travel agent without registration, contrary to the Travel Industry Act.

Paszyn was sentenced to a fine of $4,000, plus the Victim Fine Surcharge, for a total of $5,000. Aquarius received a suspended sentence.

Paszyn and Aquarius operated in Toronto and elsewhere in Ontario. After the charges were laid, Aquarius applied for registration as a travel agent under the Act. The application is nearing completion pending final review.
