Absolutely Grand

Oasis Hotels & Resorts poised to open Grand Sens Cancun

IAN STALKER

Pam Bassett is confident the Grand Sens Cancun will be grand.

Bassett, business development manager Canada for Oasis Hotels & Resorts, notes that the Spanish company is preparing to broaden its Cancun presence with the Dec. 10 opening of the Grand Sens Cancun, an upscale all-inclusive that will have 359 rooms and 40 Sian Ka’an suites.

The suites will have a private plunge pool or a Jacuzzi tub, and there will be a large communal Jacuzzi as well in the infinity pool.

All guests are also offered a free round-trip shuttle service to The Pyramid at Grand Cancun to enjoy the unlimited Vegas-style entertainment and full gaming casino. Those staying in Sian Ka’an suites will also be offered dining at four exclusive award-winning restaurants.

Successful concept

The Grand Sens will be for those aged 21 or more, a concept Bassett notes Oasis is familiar. “It was a very successful concept for us in previous years, and there’s a demand for it,” she says Bassett is promising that the Grand Sens won’t be “your regular adults-only” resort, with the property offering guests the likes of Thursday night cruises and the resort’s Red Cabaret burlesque shows.

“We want to provide our guests with more than just bingo on the beach,” Bassett continues of a resort that will be “smack-dab on a glorious beach. We’re super-excited. People are clamouring for this.”
The Grand Sens is being offered by Air Canada Vacations, Transat, TravelBrands, and Sunwing.

Oasis now has a contest for travel agents that will award the winner with a six-night Gran Sens stay and return airfare with Aeromexico.

“This will be a wonderful opportunity for a travel agent and a companion to experience the Grand Sens,” Bassett notes.

Strong presence

Oasis already has a weighty presence in Cancun, where it offers the 4.5-star Grand Oasis Cancun and the five-star The Pyramid at Grand Cancun, billed as the ultimate entertainment resorts.

The Grand Oasis Cancun has a multi-level casino, making it the only casino resort in Cancun. The four-star Oasis Palm and 4.5-star Grand Oasis Palm are promoted as family resorts sharing a 43,000-sq.-ft. KiddO Zone.

All four are all-inclusives.

Oasis also offers Cancun visitors Oh! The Urban Oasis, a downtown city hotel for those aged 18 and over that includes breakfast in its rates.

Another option is Smart Cancun by Oasis, which doesn’t include meals in its rates.
