Discover America Canada starts the season off right

Discover America Canada welcomed members to the Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown late last week to celebrate the start of the 2023 Holiday Season and to celebrate a busy and successful year for the organization here in Canada.

The relaxed evening featured a presentation by Raina Williams, senior regional manager – Canada, Expedia Group Media Solutions, on the company’s new Path to Purchase study, and she provided a range of insights on some of the latest trends that Expedia Group Media Solutions is seeing in Canada and globally.

Williams walked her audience through the steps – Inspiration, Research, Planning and Booking – that travellers follow on the Path to Purchase.

Stephen Fine, President of Snowbird Advisor and Snowbird Advisor Insurance, took a deep dive into some of the trends for the snowbird market that were revealed in the latest Snowbird Advisor member survey.

The evening also saw Bob Mowat, executive editor of Canadian Travel Press/Baxter Media presented with the award for ‘Best US Travel Trade Article’ for his story – VISIT FLORIDA – Leaning into what people want.

Discover America Canada’s Sue Webb also told the gathering that the organization will not be raising membership fees in 2024. She noted as well that Discover America Canada has a lot planned for the next 12 months and those plans include a few surprises … so, stay tuned.
