Rocky Mountaineer has its first cookbook, Eat Play Love: Regionally Inspired Cuisine by Rocky Mountaineer. Executive chefs Jean Pierre Guerin and Frédéric Couton recreate the train’s onboard culinary journey in this collection of Western Canadian inspired recipes and photos. The incentive for creating the book is found right outside the windows of the train, as it travels through the region. Many of the 37 regionally inspired dishes in the cookbook are served in the GoldLeaf Service dining room onboard. Additionally, there are several bonus recipes — personal favourites of the Rocky Mountaineer culinary team. Each dish is easy to prepare and all of the ingredients can be substituted with locally sourced products from other regions. (
