GETTING THE NOD: ACV picks Ferrin as president, COO

Air Canada Vacations (ACV) has announced the appointment of Eamonn Ferrin as president and chief operating officer, effective April 8. Ferrin will report directly to Michael Friisdahl, CEO of the Air Canada Leisure Group. Ferrin brings to Air Canada Vacations a tremendous wealth of experience within the travel industry, including Europe, Canada and other international markets. An Honours graduate of Belfast’s Queen’s University (Economic History), he also holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Surrey (Tourism, Finance & Marketing). Ferrin will be responsible for the daily business operations of Air Canada Vacations. He will also ensure that ACV continues to advance its strong existing partnerships within the travel industry, including a strong commitment to its travel agency partners. Ferrin most recently served as managing director of Hotel Breaks Division at Holidaybreak plc where he supported Cox & Kings Ltd’s acquisition of Holidaybreak plc in 2011. Prior to that, Eamonn held several key travel industry positions, including Chief Executive Officer at Allbury Travel Group Ltd, Managing Director at MyTravel UK Limited, President of business units within MyTravel North America running the Canadian & USA charter tour operations, and as Director and Head of departments within Airtours Holidays.
