Based on hotel bookings made on for the 2013 Victoria Day weekend, the most popular domestic destinations for travel include Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, Banff, Toronto and Niagara Falls. found that although 60% of Canadians would like to stay within their home province for this Victoria Day weekend, 12% would like to travel in Canada and 14% would like to venture down to our neighbours south of the border. Sean Shannon, vice-president and managing director of, observed that: “Those travelling south of the border are heading to Las Vegas, New York and Seattle.” The survey also found that Canadians view the four national summer long weekends as an opportunity or perhaps an excuse to travel, with 66% of respondents stating they take advantage of at least one long weekend over the summer to go on holiday.
