INSIGHT IGNITED

Over 120 Ensemble Travel Group owners, managers and preferred supplier partners reunited at Sparkling Hill Resort in Vernon, BC for the company’s sixth annual Executive Retreat — which featured seminars, networking and fun social activities. Lindsay Pearlman, co-president of Ensemble Travel Group, said that “this year’s educational component was essentially a follow up to an in-depth project we started with ChangeLabs at the 2012 retreat.” Pearlman explained that “those members who attended were presented with critical strategies and, through discussion, identified tactics to help them maintain a sustainable business and drive sales.” A two-part presentation — based on the culmination of a year-long research project for Ensemble Travel Group — was led by Peter Gossin, director of research and insight at ChangeLabs, a global consultancy firm that delivers large-scale behavioral change projects. Lesley Keyter, owner of The Travel Lady in Calgary, AB found the seminar extremely impactful, commenting: “Our Executive Retreat provided a rare and in-depth examination of our industry, thanks to the work of ChangeLabs.ß Using this analysis, and the exchange of ideas with our peers, I believe that we all have returned to our agencies with a better vision for the future.” Owner and managers also had the opportunity to sit down with supplier partners and Ensemble staff members for in-depth one-on-one meetings, providing ample time to discuss business opportunities and initiatives. Phil Sproul, president of Kensington Tours and a “first-timer” at Executive Retreat, said, “I was extremely impressed with the quality of the content, the participants in attendance and the level of organization at Retreat. Given ample opportunity to spend valuable time Â
