ISLAND ROUTES COMPLETES UPGRADE

Island Routes Caribbean Adventures announced the completion of substantial upgrades to its catamaran and fishing boat fleet at the JAPEX 2013 at the Montego Bay Convention Center. The significant improvements mark the ending of a two-year heavy maintenance program, where each vessel was given a complete overhaul to “ensure that Island Routes continuously operates the most modern and efficient vessels in the marketplace and the largest owned and managed fleet of state-of-the-art vessels in the entire Caribbean.””Island Routes is thrilled to present our upgraded product at JAPEX. There couldn’t be a better place to debut our latest accomplishment than the premier travel show in Jamaica,”said David L. Shields, general manager of Island Routes Caribbean Adventures. “Our maintenance program is a great example of Island Routes’ efforts to go above and beyond in order to provide safe, reliable and fun adventure tours throughout the Caribbean.”After spending an average of 10 weeks being refurbished, select Island Routes catamarans are now equipped with “LIVE FUNNER”water slides, state-of-the-art navigational and Numark music systems and modern galleys, bars and restroom facilities. In addition to the physical upgrades, each boat captain and first mate has gained a Coxswain Certificate, and every captain also holds a Coastal License issued by the Maritime Authority of Jamaica. These improvements are part of a two-year maintenance cycle, which ensures Island Routes has not only the most contemporary and efficient vessels, but is also the safest tour operator in the region. Island Routes is currently engaged in its half-yearly tour inspections across the Caribbean where safety, customer service, license arrangements, equipment, insurance and sites/guides are checked by operations managers and external consultants in an effort to again provide the extra level of quality and service for visitors to the Caribbean looking to enjoy top-notch experiences and excursions.
