One Dream Travel hosts Taiwan & Bali event in Richmond, B.C.
The Waves of Wonder advertising campaign has accelerated Taiwan’s tourism visibility in the past year, and now a Vancouver tour operator is shining some of that promotional light on another Asian holiday island.
Both Taiwan and Bali can be seen and experienced in programs being sold by One Dream Travel, based in downtown Vancouver. It has labeled the combination as “Two Islands, Two Wonders,” and is doing so with holiday programs for both. Reps from Taiwan and Bali, plus China Airlines, took turns presenting their products at a travel trade event in Richmond BC last week.
The Richmond event was one of four stops in a western Canada mission that included Edmonton, Regina and Kelowna. Attending agents learned a wide range of facts about both destinations, as well as Taiwan-based airline China Airlines.
Half-day tours and rail trips
For example, they discovered that free, half-day tours are available for arriving passengers who have a longer stopover in Taiwan before boarding their connecting flight to another destination. Those with a layover lasting between seven and 24 hours can opt for the four-hour morning tour to see Taipei’s 100 years of glory; a four-hour afternoon tour to see the beauty of Taiwanese traditional arts or a four-hour evening tour to experience Taiwanese cuisine and a night market. There is no cost for these half-day tours.
Also available for those staying longer in Taiwan is the Go2 Taiwan ticket offer for trips on the THSR rail service. Passengers can get two tickets for the price of one on trips from Taipei to Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Tainan and other places on the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) train.
Competitive pricing
But the bottom line for agents was discovering the pricing on packages to both Bali and Taiwan. For example, programs to Taiwan include the 8-day Enchanting Taiwan program for $1,678; the 10-day Amazing Round Island tour for $3,748 and the 5-day Best of Taiwan for $1,078.
Programs to Bali continue to offer some of the best value anywhere for an exotic beach holiday,
half way around the planet. For instance, the 14-day Wake Up in Bali program is priced at $2,888 per person, including hotel and airfares on CI, transiting through Taipei.
Some land-only packages are also very well priced, ranging from $858 to $1,518, including a one-day boat trip to nearby Lombok.
Agent FAM trip coming this fall
Agents can look forward to applying for a spot on a fam trip that is being planned for October or November this year. It will include a return air ticket from Vancouver to Taipei and Bali, four nights stay with tours in Taiwan, and six nights stay and tours in Bali.
Upcoming in Vancouver will be a Taiwan Tourism Workshop, by the Taiwan Visitors Association. It will be held on June 11 from 10:00 to 1:30 at the Paradox Hotel. The exclusive event will feature presentations from Taiwan’s leading airlines and top tourism experts, as well as an Indigenous Taiwanese dance performance and samples of Taiwanese cuisine.
Attendance must be confirmed by May 30.
