PORTER ADDS: e-ticketing for agents

Porter Airlines now has e-ticketing for travel agencies. Initially electronic ticketing will be available to Sabre GDS travel agencies in North America through ARC and BSP. Amadeus and Travelport compatibility will follow later this year. Porter will continue to process reservations on both an Instant Purchase and E-ticket basis. Agency partners will now have a choice of maintaining their instant purchase approach or converting to E-Ticketing. Commission payment for E-Tickets on Porter will continue to be paid directly to the agency on flown volume and not at point of sale (POS) via ARC or BSP. A conversion to commission payments from BSP and ARC, plus migration of payment basis from flown revenue to booked revenue, will be launched in the coming months. Porter Airlines’ executive vice-president and chief commercial officer, Michael Deluce said: “Porter has defined itself with customers by focusing on innovation and service, and emphasizing premium amenities at no added cost to the customer. E-ticketing allows us to enhance the travel agent experience by providing a more seamless experience for them.” E-ticketing offers benefits for travellers, travel agencies and airlines. This includes security, flexibility, reduced cost and convenience. It also provides the opportunity to expand airline interline and code share agreements. Go to http://www.flyporter.com for more.
