PORTER BAGGAGE GUARANTEE

Porter Airlines is introducing a checked baggage delivery guarantee. All checked bags will reach the baggage claim within 30 minutes of aircraft arriving at the gate of any airport, or a $25 voucher valid for future Porter travel within six months will be provided. In the event of a delay beyond 30 minutes, a passenger simply needs to file a report with an on-site Porter agent at the baggage claim within one hour of flight arrival to be credited with an electronic voucher on their file. One voucher is issued per qualified passenger for one or more checked bag. The offer does not apply to oversize or special handling items, such as golf clubs, skis or assistive devices. Porter’s new initiative is part of a series of baggage policy updates providing greater convenience, flexibility and new fee scales. All changes take effect for travel beginning Aug. 1, 2013, for flights booked as of today. Pre-existing rules apply for flights booked before today or for travel occurring before Aug. 1. The baggage guarantee provides extra assurance for passengers, while updated fees and improved allowances offer more flexibility when checking bags. The overall customer experience is something that continues offering exceptional value.” Porter is introducing checked baggage fees for all one-way travel between the U.S. and Canada. This scale is now $25 for the first bag, $35 for the second bag, and $100 for the third bag and each subsequent bag, which is comparable to other airlines. For customers booking Freedom travel itineraries, the first and second checked bag fees are waived. For Flexible travel itinerary customers, the second checked bag fee is waived. Porter’s domestic Canada checked baggage fees remain complimentary for the first bag and $20 for the second bag, but increasing to $100 for the third bag and each subsequent bag.
