Riviera Nayarit Escapes Major Damage From Nora

Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, reports that while Hurricane Nora made landfall in Riviera Nayarit as a Category 1 storm this past weekend, it did not cause any major damage to the hotel and tourism services.

Damage to the tourist corridor and hotel establishments is minimal, except for fallen trees and garbage on the beaches due to the rains and strong waves, according to a report from the hotel associations of Banderas Bay, Compostela and San Blas.

The hotel zone is being monitored closely, and hotels are also following prevention protocols. Riviera Nayarit says it is a safe destination, with hotels and restaurants following all sanitary protocols established by the Ministry of Health of the Federal Government and are operating at their permitted capacity.

Access to the beaches is limited. The destination asks all visitors to be responsible by using masks and maintain social distance.
