Start Your Comeback With L.A.

The City of Angels has a story to tell as Los Angeles Tourism resumes its consumer marketing in Canada.

In fact, to both showcase the importance of the market and express gratitude for Canada’s travel trade industry, Los Angeles Tourism’s president and CEO, Adam Burke has recorded a video message from the newly opened Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

For Canadians who are looking at visiting L.A., they’ll discover that the city’s comeback is well underway, with museums, indoor dining, live music, theme parks and spectator sports all safely reopened.

And, the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism) is rolling out the welcome mat for Canadian travellers.

Don Skeoch, chief marketing officer for Los Angeles Tourism, observes that: “After a long period without travel, L.A. is the place to star as the main character in your own movie – whatever the genre may be.”

Skeoch continues: “Over the past 19 months, L.A. has continued to evolve and our returning visitors will find a significant amount of new restaurants, hotels, attractions and experiences that are the perfect backdrop for that movie.”

The City of Angels’ comeback is driven by wide-scale investment in the city’s hotels, restaurants, transit and attractions, alongside new safety measures and first-of-its-kind protocols.

This year alone saw the first game with attendance at the state-of-the-art SoFi Stadium (host of Super Bowl LVI in 2022); the highly anticipated opening of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures; the opening of 20+ new hotels (with 10+ more set to open by the close of the year); the addition of such drool-worthy new restaurants as LA Cha Cha Cha (in Downtown; an import from Mexico City), Winston House in Venice, etta in Culver City, the Girl and the Goat (Downtown); a revamped visitor center at the iconic Warner Bros Studio Tour Hollywood; and much more.

Plus, to reinforce the importance of safety among potential travellers, Los Angeles Tourism has partnered with CLEAR Health Pass to safely welcome group business back to the City of Angels.

Health Pass is a free, mobile experience on the CLEAR app that securely connects a user’s verified identity to multiple layers of COVID-19-related health information to help reduce public health risk and bring meetings and events back responsibly.

CLEAR works with event organizers and meeting planners to tailor solutions to meet their needs and entry requirements.

As well, Los Angeles is the first-ever Sharecare VERIFIED destination in the United States. Developed by Sharecare and Forbes Travel Guide, Sharecare VERIFIED is a comprehensive verification process and designation that assures guests and travel planners that Los Angeles hotels with this distinction have appropriate safety procedures in place.

All L.A.-area hotels must comply with public health guidelines, however specific protocols and programs vary across hotel brands and product categories.

By becoming Sharecare VERIFIED, the more than 50 L.A. hotels that are part of this program are also ensuring their protocols will continue to comply with evolving, expert-validated standards.
