Taiwan Ending COVID Quarantine Requirements

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) of Taiwan announced that as of Oct. 13, incoming travellers will no longer be required to quarantine and will instead undergo a seven-day period of self-initiated prevention after arrival.

After two years in the pandemic, Taiwan and the Taiwanese people are thrilled to welcome back travellers from all over the world to experience its many adventures! International travelers will now be able to fly to this stunning island destination and explore its many offerings.

In the coming months, Taiwan has many exciting events for tourists to experience, such as: 2022 Taiwan Hot Spring & Fine-Cuisine Carnival (2022.09.14 -2023.06.30), Sun Moon Lake Music & Fireworks Festival with “Come! Bike Day” (2022.10.17 -2022.11.19),2022 Chiayi City international Band Festival (2022.12.16-2023.1.1), and Taiwan Lantern Festival 2023 (2023.02.05 -2023.02.19) will be in Taipei City!

In addition to its many attractions and events, Taiwan is the perfect destination for foodies. Director Claire Wen of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau in New York stated: “We are so excited to hear that the borders are officially reopening to travelers worldwide. Taiwan is full of tourism resources, featuring various unique ecologies, cultures, foods, and festivities. We welcome travelers to visit and experience the beauty of Taiwan.”

The quarantine requirement will be replaced by a seven-day period of self-initiated epidemic prevention after arrival. During this period, travellers are instructed to avoid coming into contact with those who are immunocompromised and should stay home if they are feeling symptomatic. Travellers are required to have a negative at-home rapid COVID test result as a precaution.
