Virgin Atlantic makeovers brighten YVR

Makeover masters from Virgin Atlantic Airways recently rolled into Vancouver, treating travel agents and the general public to their skills as the airline prepares for its second season of operations from YVR. On day one, they worked from the interiors of Virgin red Mini Coopers, executing swift hair/facial remakes on surprised passersby in trendy Gastown. The second day was devoted to dropping in on travel agents in agencies around town. Their mission was not only to promote the restart of the airline’s seasonal flight services, which kick off on May 14, four times per week, until the end of October. They were also in town to tell travel retailers that specially reduced airfares to London from Vancouver have been created, for both them and their clients. Agent-only fares of $324 one-way can be booked until Mar. 31, for travel between May 14 and June 18. Consumer fares range from $622 one-way (economy class) to $1,870 one-way (business class), available until Feb. 28. As well, agents who book Virgin Atlantic flights are eligible for entry in a draw to win a seat on an upcoming “Glam Fam.” The fam includes around trip premium economy seat to London from Vancouver, two nights in London, a day with the Virgin Atlantic grooming team and a Mini Cooper tour of London.
